Wow! Hollywood could not have written a better script if they tried. Early on, it looked like another GRD blow-out was in the making. The PCO team, however, showed no signs of fear or nerves and, led by their quarterback, MAJ “I’m faster than I look” Vickery, mounted an impressive come from behind victory. The final points scored by PCO came on a safety forced by a defense that was dominant the entire second half. The final score was PCO 23 - GRD 21.
So what does this mean for the future of GRD/PCO football? I smell a rematch.
The tie breaker game will be played sometime prior to Christmas.
Thank you to Christina “it takes a woman to do a man’s job” Ansay for organizing a much improved PCO team and organizing the Turkey Bowl rematch. Thanks to all the players for participating and the fans for coming out and showing their support. It was a good day in Iraq and a fun diversion.
We are looking for referees for the next game. This one will be for all the marbles and we want to ensure a fair contest. If interested, please contact either myself at the email address below or Mrs. Ansay in PCO.
