It seems there is concern for Mike and I as a result of the recent kidnappings. Let me lay your worries to rest. The Green Zone is a heavily guarded, gated community. We are generally either in one of two places - either in our living area or at work. The only time we could possibly be at risk is while traveling between the two areas. This consists of moving from one guarded area to another. The distance between the two areas? The width of a street. We leave one guarded entrance and enter another. This puts us at about..what...20 seconds of where the SLIM possibility is there? During which we are in full view of the guards and with each other. If we go to the PX, we drive out of one gated area in our vehicle and drive into another gated area less than a mile away. We're in a vehicle......in the Green Zone.. If I go to the bigger gym I ride my bike on the street....This is during the 'curfew' where people are not allowed to drive the road outside the Green Zone and it's only a few moments that I'm out of view of either the Marine's or the guards. So if someone were to somehow try to nab me while I'm enroute..they would have to do so silently (because there is no noise at this time), out of sight, and hold onto me until they're allowed to drive out of the Green Zone. I also rarely go to this gym anymore since the other one is much closer and I've gotten used to it. So again, no worries. Hope this helps! :)
Another typical day other than that. It's Tuesday, so that means laundry night. (what an exciting routine! :) We might see if Steve has a movie we can borrow. I'm kind of in the mood to rearrange our rooms but we can't do so without permission...which we can't get now. :P Soooo another week! Mike's been really teasing me about his Christmas present for me. It better be good! His hints are all worthless (ie "It shipped out December 4", "They won't ship it out of the US", "Maria says she'll kick your butt if you don't like it", etc. etc.). Only a couple more weeks until I get to see it :) I've set up football practice for this Friday. Not everyone seems as excited as they did last time ;( They should be! It's the tiebreaker this time! I'll have to recruit some more motivated people. I'm looking into getting the Hospital employees to play us in some pick-up games. It'll be good practice.
Mmmm....I'm outta here! Have a great day!
