What a day! haha. Started off pretty well. Our HR manager, Steve informed us that they are upgrading the PX in the International Zone..so we went to check it out! WOW! What an improvement! There was a lot of items that I've never seen there before and a lot of it! Steve says it's not anything they haven't had before, just everything they've ever had, all at once. Anyway. It's definitely a nice improvement. They even had XBox 360s! To my surprise, Mike didn't buy one. He's wisely decided to wait until we go home for good. That way it won't get damaged, will hopefully be cheape,r and most of the bugs will be discovered. So smart! haha!
I also joined Jason at a USAID meeting today. He's going on R&R tomorrow night so he wanted me to come so I can be introduced to the group. I'll be handing that while he's gone...it's something I'm thoroughly looking forward to!
The locals went home early today as a security caution. Apparently someone (not the US) blew up one of the Shi'ite mosques. They put us on U3 and sent the locals home through Sunday. They also restricted movement within the IZ to only mission-essential...which means no kickboxing tonight. :(
Hmm...I guess that's it. Wasn't as exciting as I thought it was! :) Here's a picture of Mike and I in our battle rattle! Look for Pete in his on the Photoalbum! What a riot...
