Dubai

It seems the trick to seemless travel is ensuring enough cushion is scheduled to ensure delayed travel does not ruin the trip. lol. We scheduled nearly three full days in Dubai just in case the usual happens and we do not depart from Baghdad as scheduled. We have never departed from the commercial side of the airport as easily. There was little queue, little delay, and good company. If only it was always so easy.

The room we booked proved to be pretty nice and connected to a huge shopping center so we have split our time between relaxing and browsing the luxury shops. We hope to get out to the Mall of Emirates today to try out the indoor ski resort.

We weren't even out of the airport before we picked up some wine/beer (have to take advantage of Duty Free right!?). I discoved a red wine that is delish (The Clan - Australian wine) and Mike picked up Heinekin which was quickly replaced by the Belgian beer offered by the hotel restaurant. ;) I'm looking forward to the famous wineries of South Africa. Our tour begins tomorrow....more to come.
