We were treated to lunch at the Carnivore in Nairobi for our last day. The restaurant, which was influenced by a similar restaurant in Brazil, offers exotic meats for the tasting. One by one the waiters visited our tables with slabs of meat and recommended sauces for us to try. Ostrich, crocodile, chicken, lamb, and pork were served. Apparently, the restaurant used to also offer the cats, gazelle, zebra, etc. etc. but abuse threatened the wildlife.
The Pintos bid us adieu by inviting us to dinner at their majestic home with other safariers. The Pintos, who founded Micato, have obviously done well. They home was beautiful and the food was excellent. The Pintos met with us as we shared stories with the other travelers and tasted various Indian and Kenyan dishes (the Pintos are actually Indian in descent).
