Happy Birthday to me!

It was an excellent first birthday back in the US!

I've already mentioned the beautiful jewelry box that Mike spoiled me with.... today, he hand delivered a birthday card to my work... enclosed within the envelope were two tickets to the Keith Urban concert! :D  Now that's love - he hates country music and he's going to put himself through the agony of listening to it live. ;)  We also went out to lunch with the people at our office AND I had yummy birthday cake brought in by one of my colleagues.  Tonight, Mike has some sort of surprise set up that sounds like dinner at a nice restaurant...all I know, is I get to dress up!

Mike's mom also sent over a beautiful cashmere sweater.  It arrived a couple days early but Mike was a good gift-deliverer and refused to allow me to open it early.  He even hid it from me so I couldn't open it before he woke up on my birthday morning!

I received numerous birthday wishes from friends and family via all forms of communication - telephone, Skype, Facebook, email, ecard, and snail-mail cards.  It's good to feel loved.

We went shopping for new wheels to put on Mike's roller blades last night..and once they were installed, we took them out for a test drive around our parking lot/drive way in our PJs.  My brakes are nubs and I've never been good with downward slopes, especially not in the dark, so I was just waiting for the crash landing...fortunately, I got through it without...I'm really hoping we'll get an opportunity to take them out to the county park this weekend.  Another option is a bicycle wine country tour. ;)  We had a lot of discussion over lunch today of fun things to do in the area...one of which was riding bikes on the Katy trail through the wine country and testing various wines along the way.  I guess there is even a brewery!  Sounds good to me!
