I had a very enjoyable weekend... too bad it had to end with me returning to an empty house...well, Bacardi and Maisey were there...but Mike wasn't.

Mike left for Baghdad just over six hours before I returned from my weekend with the family. I wish I could have seen him off but we didn't realize until last minute that he had to go! I received word this morning that he made it there safe and sound and even has reasonable accommodations. He is living in a decent sized trailer with his own bathroom. :) The area he is supporting usually offers campus style living with community bathrooms so he got lucky. His return flight hasn't been booked but based on my calculations, only 18 more days to go. :(

I had flown home to walk the Relay for Life with my Mom Friday night and spend Sunday with my dad for Father's Day. I arrived at the Relay for Life location just as the weather started turning. My Mom, Dad, little brother, and I walked for approximately three hours straight...in steady rain. We only braked for dinner and a quick game of Musical Chairs. There was a fundraising Fish Fry available this year with huge proportions at reasonable prices, supporting a good cause, so we digged in. It was pretty tasty though I don't think it can compete against the Fish Day offerings. ;)

My little brother, who was walking for my cat Jack, joined me in Musical Chairs. I ended up playing twice and almost won the first game! It was down to one chair with me versus a little boy probably about my brother's age. I had to let him win otherwise I'd look bad. ;)

I took my parent's dog out for a jog on Saturday to start the day off right. She proved she needs to do that a little more often when we got just down the street and she was already showing signs of wear. lol. Maybe I'll make a habit of it when I come home. I also hopped on the motorcycle with my Dad and went window shopping for a motorcycle for Mike. Unfortunately, there wasn't much available but it's been a LONG time since I've been passenger on a motorcycle and probably longer since I've ridden with my Dad. Good times.

I ended the day visiting with High School friends at a local restaurant. We made sure the mosquitos were well fed while catching up on the events since we last saw each other. It turns out our ten year reunion is coming up quickly but there doesn't seem to be much planned for it. Guess we'll have to decide whether we're going to show.

Last but not least, the finale of the weekend was golfing with my Dad. It was my third time golfing so noone was expecting much and fortunately, the party of players all took a light hearted approach to the game. We played with two friends of his from work. I thought I played alright considering...and look forward to getting out on the course again. It sounds like we have an afternoon of it planned for the day after Fish Day. Now I just need to decide whether I really want to invest in clubs....
