Twenty-five mortars in less than two minutes. I think that's a record for me. Of course, none of them were very close..just close enough to put us under lock down for a while. I am one of the Emergency Coordinators, so I have the daunting task of tracking down a list of people during such events. Usually it's not bad, but there's those FEW people who never seem to figure out how to pick up a phone and let me know they're okay (nor do they answer!).
It was a REALLY long night last night and I didn't finish the Quarterly Reports before I went home but the late night did make it easy to finish them this morning. I was able to leisurely review all the reports throughout the day and comfortably submit on time. (Pat on the back)
Being ill affected my performance instructing class last night. We did focus on upper body and we did try a few new things..but I really didn't feel like I gave the energy I usually do. I try to stay pumped up personality-wise, hoping it will motivate some of the people in the class, but it just wasn't happening. It was one of the largest classes we've had in a while too. I would guess there were over 40 people!
We had a couple celebrations today. One to bid farewell to a colleague who is transferring Stateside and another to celebrate a birthday. Mike insists he doesn't want a Birthday Party so we shared the celebration with him figuring he might prefer that..but I don't think I'm satisfied. :) Muhahaha!
The different dynamics of people's work schedule is interesting around here. The schedule isn't really set so people are able to come and go as they please, provided they put in the hours they require to accomplish what they were hired to do and are available when needed to satisfy the clients. I'm the early bird in our group..and we just hired a night owl. It's kind of weird seeing someone not show up until just before lunch (and sometimes after!). Of course, he works until the wee hours of the night while I get to go home by dinner!
