In honor of Veteran's Day.....

Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of the men who follow and of the man who leads that gains that victory. - George S. Patton, 1885 - 1945

.......

We had our first football practice today. I think overall, it went really well. We did have one injury that could turn out to be a really bad injury. One of our players came down on his knee and heard a pop. Now he has it up and iced in an attempt to get the swelling down. I have my fingers crossed that it'll minor. :S It does look like we have much more talent than we did last time we played. I think GRD will be surprised! :) Plus, it's nice getting some practice in before the games. We had to move our practice to another area because there was a softball game going on that no one thought about. That's my bad. As coach, I should've made sure no one had reserved the field for anything. We are officially on the calendar for next Friday though! :) We had lunch at the Embassy DFAC after practice. WOW - do they have a nicer place. Their food was better overall and they even had REAL silverware. I've gotten so used to fake silverware that I accidentally threw my set in the trash! It was a little embarrassing trying to get it back out again. Fortunately, the trash attendant was nice enough to take the bin out do it for me.
Mike and I had a relaxing evening last night. We just sat outside with Iris, drank some wine, and munched on some snacks. It was nice. It's our weekend today. We came to work a little later than usual and only worked five hours. We would've worked more, but football practice broke it up.
OH! I ALMOST forgot! I got an email from Lucas today. He announced that him and Belle will wed next FRIDAY at the capitol! I'll miss it :( I guess we're not the only ones who choose to elope..although they certainly gave more notice. CONGRATULATIONS! Take LOTS of pictures....I really wish I could be there :(

Hope everyone has a great day!
