Xavier came to class last night. He took it very easy on us. I think he's lost motivation for the class. He said last night that he gets the impression that the people who take the class don't really want to be challenged. They just come to say they came and don't put forth the effort...and then they complain that the class is too hard rather than trying harder. Makes sense, but he has a lot more experience in the material and I prefer to learn more than to teach what he's already taught. We'll see.
After class, Mike and I relaxed in the room, watching TV and eating crackers and cheese. Just before we were going to go rinse off, "WHOMPH", the room went dark. The Electrical Panel had blown up and was actually on fire. This meant: No Power, No Hot Water, No Heat. It wasn't bad throughout the night. The air in the room was rather refreshing when we woke up and it was followed up nicely with a lovely cold face rinse in the morning. It's been in the low 30's lately at night and the rooms are not well insulated.... I got up to go to the gym and used Pete's room to take a shower in before coming back to my room. We're told that our building will have power returned to it by dark...we'll see if that happens. Mike retrieved a key to a spare room - just in case. Plus that'll provide him with a hot shower since it'll take several hours before the water in our building heats up.
Welllll....I'm outta here!
