I'm actually a little sore today (imagine that!). I went to both kickboxing classes last night. The first one is called Mui Thai Kickboxing. It's more of fighting techniques. How to kick, punch, etc. most effectively while still protecting yourself. It's full contact - you give and receive kicks/knees/punches. When receiving you're holding pads to so it doesn't hurt, but it was probably the most difficult part. The top of my foot is littered with bruises. :) That just means I threw in a few kicks that were not directed in the right position. You're not supposed to hit with your foot. I think I will go to it again next Saturday. It's also held during the week after cardio classes but that's when I have my bloody mary! :) Or rather.."V8" now that General Order #1 is in effect....with Jim and Mike! :) The second kickboxing class turned out to be all kicks and punches too! Usually we do a series of lunges, jumps, squats, push ups, sit ups, etc. etc., but this time we had a Martial Arts style class. We progressed through a kicking routine..We started out really simple and strung on more difficult kicks/punches. It was fun and a nice follow-up to the first kickboxing class I took. I even kept up with the sit-ups I've been doing before bed at night AND Mike and I got up for the gym this morning. I know it sounds silly, but since I did so well at working out over the last 24 hours, I figured I deserved some ice cream for dessert at lunch today. :) ( I usually don't have dessert)
It's poker night again tonight. :) Hopefully that turns out well! Other than that - it's just more of the same! Fun fun!
