Just another typical day in Baghdad! ;)

The morning went by rather slowly. Just before lunch, we were fortunate enough to lose our most recent progress when the power went out unexpectedly. I, of course, hadn't saved in a while but Autosave had done so about 20 minutes earlier. I'm not sure I understand that feature. I have it set to save every 5 minutes but it doesn't appear to. Oh well. Twenty minutes is better than the whole morning wasted. Since the power was out, we went off to lunch a little early. Mike was happy about that because he was first in line at the sandwich Bar. I think that's his number one complaint each day. You see - there are several people who go to the DFAC to collect lunches for the hospital or for their friends, so they'll stand in line with 2+ to-go trays. Mike seems to always get stuck behind those with many more (5+) and he has to wait while they make 10+ sandwiches! :) Pooooooor Mikey.

It's Saturday so we'll it's Mike's night off from Christina. :) He'll play video games while I go to kickboxing. I asked the Muay Thai instructor last night if he was going to be there tonight and he confirmed so hopefully I'll get to participate!

The weather has been just beautiful lately. It's been sunny with a slight breeze and temps in the mid-70's to low-80's. I've started getting into the habit of taking a walk around the building mid-afternoon. It takes as long as a cigarette break and it gets me away from the desk so why not? :) We'll see if I continue to do so once the temps get back up to 130-140.

Steve has started working on our R&R. It looks like we're going to be pretty well off with the quote home. I know I've explained this before, but just in case - they give us the money for the flight home to Madison, and we can put that towards anything we want as long as we're leaving Baghdad. We're going to Thailand so the ticket cost will be less. Whatever we the difference is, we'll get to pocket. ;)

I guess I'd better get back to work. :)

Adios!
