We were spoiled by the weather over the weekend. Saturday forecasts threatened afternoon thunderstorms but only one lonely cloud rolled in to cool us down with a few sprinkles. We took advantage of the lovely weather by getting outdoors. We checked out the paved trails at Creve Coeur Park with our roller blades and I did so again on Sunday, only this time with our dog Maisey. The trails were perfect: well maintained and not over crowded. They trail around a lake and through the over 1100 acres of land dedicated to the park. I discovered (or rather confirmed) that Maisey no longer has the endurance to keep up... We'll have to whip her back into shape! I ended up carrying her for a good portion of our trip.

We also bought a bucket of balls each at the golf course to practice our swing. I will need to go back. lol. I think my first twenty swings hit nothing but air! Mike did his best to coach me after he realized I desparately needed help... and once I got the hang of it, I made some decent contact...but it would be nothing to brag about... if Mike's Step-Dad and I are going to woop his and his Mom's butt at this game I will need to practice up.

I guess it was just a losing weekend for me because I also bombed against Mike when we went to the shooting range for some target practice! We decided to recycle our targets and aim for the head rather than the nicely shaded, and bullethole splattered, bullseye focused on the chest. I was having a really hard time seeing where I hit on the black paper (the grey in the bullseye makes it MUCH easier) so I couldn't adjust properly...let's just say he won.

I looked up some trails in the St. Louis area for mountain biking. It looks like there may be some decent trails nearby! I am super excited about it. I wish I had realized that there was a trail maintenance meet at the Creve Coeur Park while we were blading. I would have enjoyed meeting some fellow riders as well as getting a look at the closest trail. I think I'm going to see if my bike still works next weekend while Mike ditches me for the boys. Should be fun!
