I've started counting calories again :P The scale has informed me that I have not been behaving well since I returned from Iraq. My reduced workout and increased intake has produced expected results - weight gain. I need to get it under control before it becomes to hard to. Counting calories is actually pretty easy with www.thedailyplate.com and doing so opens my eyes to the empty calories I consume...and just how much that yummy kung po shrimp dish is worth in calories (1200 per meal!?!?!?) Oi. I also ran this morning, which I hate doing..but if figured I'm much better at increasing my workouts than I am at reducing my intake so I better do what I can. I'm already taking up too much of my evenings at the gym right now so I had to do so in the morning. I actually woke up on my own a minute before the alarm went off and begrudgingly dragged myself out of bed. It took everything I had not to crawl back in for another half hour. It took me 10 minutes to get out to the track so I was only able to put in 20 minutes of running... the good thing is, I ran for the full 20 without stopping and only stopped because I was out of time - not because I was tired. I'm glad I did it, but I'm going to have to work on getting outside quicker or getting up earlier...and I think I might vary it up a bit by swimming laps in our complex's little pool...might get old changing directions every two strokes though.
Mike also got up this morning and ran laps... he went out just as I came in. 05:30 was too early for him and he has the luxury of a 3 minute commute to allow him an extra half hour of sleep.
I bought tickets for a flight to my parent's house...just over $100 round trip - not bad. For Mother's Day, I asked my Mom if she would let me walk Relay for Life with her. She agreed, and it happens to fall on Father's Day weekend..so I'll get to kill two stones with one flight :) I even offered to do the Relay for Life sleep over...aren't I a good daughter?
