Wow. The carbomb that's in the news today really rocked our compound. I didn't see any reports indicating what type of vehicle was used but you would've sworn something hit right outside our building. We were immediately scrambling to take headcount the second after it went off only to be deterred with an announcement that we were not under lockdown. That's a message that you never, ever hear after an interruption like that.
Yesterday turned into a long, frustrating work day. I had to modify information papers based on vague requirements to fit a VERY specific format and satisfy a person who was being very nit-picky and non-specific. It was a very good thing that they allowed me to break for kick boxing because it allowed me to cool off... it was also a good thing X was there to teach because I probably would've released some anger through exercise on the class..or at least tried to! What fun.
We have a new member to our reporting cell. I want to spend as much time with him over the next couple weeks so he can help out while Jen goes out on R&R. That should be coming up soon..although she hasn't released any specific dates. I think he'll work out fine. He seems like he'll be a good fit.
I won't lie - my skills are less than sub-par when it comes to Access. I probably should revise that to say my experience with Access have been minimal and therefore my comfort level is low. I know spreadsheets. Am considered a guru of Excel. I know SQL and VB. I'm above average with macros, forms, etc. etc. so I think with enough playing around I could be very good at Access...Anyway, after working with our HR team, I've decided to take on the task of creating a front- and backend for a Human Resources database, complete with set & flexible reports, linked inventory, user-friendly interface, password protected sections/editing, etc. etc. It has to be created for people who only know the basics of the Microsoft package. I'm quite excited with the challenge and believe I made a very good start today. If anything, I'll have gained some familiarity with the program.
Tonight's my first company teleconference since I've been back. With the transition, I'm sure it will be very different than what I had become accustomed to. We'll see!

Let me know if you have any questions about Access. I wasn't any help with your Excel problem, but I've been using Access since 1993.
